A subscription needs only an email address

SeeNZAgain handles subscription information in a restrained and explicit way. This notice applies to the free subscription offered at the end of articles.
What we collect
After you actively select the consent checkbox and submit, the server processes the email address, page language, path and submission timing within that request to validate it and prevent abuse. The application does not write the page language, path, timing or raw IP address to the subscriber record, and it does not ask for a name, phone number or other personal details. Vercel and Resend may still process necessary network and delivery logs under their own services.
Why we collect it
Your address is first used to send one bilingual confirmation email. Only after the mailbox owner opens the link and explicitly selects the confirmation button does it join the two streams expressly selected: a brief notice when a new story is published, and one personal letter written by A Little Kiwi Bird each month. If there is no new story, there is no email for the sake of sending one.
How it is kept and processed
When a request is submitted, Resend processes the address only to deliver the confirmation email. Requests for the same address on the same UTC date share an idempotency identifier that does not contain the address in plain text. To prevent bulk abuse, Upstash Redis temporarily stores an irreversible HMAC identifier derived from the address (never the plain-text address) and shared site-wide counters. Address identifiers and daily counters expire within 48 hours; ten-minute counters expire within 20 minutes. No confirmation email is sent when the limiter is unavailable. The address in the confirmation link is authenticated and encrypted; no separate subscriber record is needed, and the link expires within 48 hours. Only after confirmation is the address retained as a Resend Contact and managed by A Little Kiwi Bird. It is not published, sold or used for unrelated marketing.
Unsubscribe, access and deletion
Every subscription Broadcast must provide a clear, free unsubscribe method. Unsubscribing marks the Resend Contact so it no longer receives Broadcasts. The public form alone cannot restore the subscription; only the mailbox owner opening a valid confirmation link and selecting the confirmation button can rejoin. To access, correct, unsubscribe or delete your record, you may email A Little Kiwi Bird at any time. The record is kept until you request deletion or the subscription service ends.
